Strategy and risk

Risk assessment and strategy

The foundation of successful and viable projects is understanding and managing risks from inception through to development and operation in a transparent, inclusive and ethical way.

This requires careful consideration of risks at all project stages, and equips developers, operators, financiers, governments and non-government organisations to make informed decisions about the future of projects.

Entura’s approach is based on identifying, understanding and mitigating the risks at each phase of the project cycle, while maintaining a focus on the long-term performance of assets. We apply best practice assessment and mitigation of risks using international frameworks and standards throughout all phases of power and water infrastructure development, from initial consideration and option analysis through to pre-feasibility, full feasibility, detailed design, construction, and ongoing operations.

Our experience has afforded us first-hand experience in developing power and water projects from site identification through to operation, from the perspective of both a consultant and an owner-operator. We use this experience to create practical solutions for our clients, to meet technical, commercial, environmental, social and economic development goals.

Putting power development and operation into practice can be challenging, especially for those with limited experience in the industry. We believe that transfer of knowledge is an important component of any project to build the capacity of clients, suppliers and communities.

Through the Entura clean energy and water institutewe provide customised training and capability building to equip clients to deliver significant energy or water programs and meet such challenges as climate change, energy access, poverty alleviation and quality of life improvements, particularly in less developed countries.
